The main purpose of the role is to deliver maximum value to customer groups for their IS investment. This is achieved by the Business Consultant forging strong relationships with selected customer groups to understand and influence their strategic directions and identify where technology is able to efficiently and effectively deliver that strategy. The Business Consultant will then be actively involved in the delivery of the portfolio of change projects and the delivery of IS services that support ';Business as Usual?.
You will be passionate about customer service and have the experience and gravitas to manage relationships at a senior level. You will have a real interest in how technology can support and shape business strategy and a good understanding of the IS and business challenges involved in delivering a portfolio of change projects. You must be highly adept at communicating across the board and creating business confidence around professional delivery of IS services. You will be a resilient self-starter, comfortable working in a demanding environment and able to deal with change.
Essential Criteria
* Hands-on experience of shaping a complex portfolio of unrelated projects which can vary in size from ?25k to ?5m+
* Familiar with a range of analysis, modelling and design methods
* Can facilitate the analysis of business processes, and articulate potential changes to business processes in a lucid and cogent manner, both orally and in writing
* Has experience managing and developing teams, including contractors and 3rd parties
* Proficient in the functional structure of businesses / organisations; their mission, objectives, strategies and critical success factors
* Proficient in consultancy (for example: managing the client relationship, planning the assignment, consultancy style)
* Expert in facilitation techniques and documentation
* Proficient in methods and techniques for preparing and presenting business cases, invitations to tender and statements of requirements both orally and in writing
* ISEB accreditation or similar a benefit
* Previous roles to have been held in medium to large multi-product business with large IT function or perhaps within large agency or consultancy
